Our Founders Passion
What started as a frustrated but determined mother and five file drawers of information is now Special Needs Advocate for Parents (SNAP). The organization was founded by Nadine Vogel in 1993, two years after she had her first child, Gretchen, who was born with numerous health problems. Gretchen’s younger sister, Rachel, was born in 1999 also with special needs.

There was so much she needed to learn about the medical, financial, educational, and legal systems to be sure that her girls received the care and attention they needed. That’s why she and her husband, Doug, created SNAP. SNAP serves over 6,000 organizations and families in the special needs community with educational seminars on special needs estate planning, referrals, and networking opportunities as well as offering medical insurance problem-solving education and services.

Nadine and Doug share the concerns of every parent who has a child with special needs. They took their passion, compassion and boundless energy to provide services that give parents direction and a little peace of mind when it comes to caring and planning for their most precious gifts: their children.
